A cask ale festival was being held at dba Brooklyn in Williamsburg. We sampled local beers that were quite the treat &#8211; dad&#8217;s partner joined us for a snack at another Williamsburg cafe afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>Towards the evening most of us headed to Chinatown for dinner, and found good food at the Amazing 66 on Mott Street. I had chicken in black bean sauce and girlfriend ordered seafood in a nest. We all then headed back to base for a good night&#8217;s rest\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Except that from out of nowhere &#8211; no, it was likely not the seafood, as others ate bits of it too &#8211; girlfriend caught a stomach bug and spent the night and most of Sunday and Monday vomiting. I stayed at her side and didn&#8217;t do much at least on Sunday. <\/p>\n<p>We did go out a bit on Monday, to lower east side to get friend Shirina the book she wanted from a small vintage\/rock\/punk store called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.livefastnyc.com\">Live Fast<\/a>. We ate at a small italian bakery-cafe that served their own bread and pasta, and it was swell apart from her not really being capable of eating.<\/p>\n<p>In the evening, I left her resting at base and met with the others at a 230 5th Avenue rooftop bar for drinks, and then headed off to Lombardi&#8217;s, the allegedly oldest pizza place in NYC (founded 1905). It was good. There was evidence of Jack Nicholson having eaten there.
